What does our new addition in Forest Lake mean? More locations, more boats, more availability, more FUN! Covering 2,251 square acres, Forest Lake offers plenty of space for skiing and tubing, in addition to a plethora of fish species for fishing aficionados. With the addition of five new boats on Forest Lake, booking a boat at all of our Eastern locations (White Bear Lake and St. Croix River) will be easier than ever before.
An incredibly popular fishing lake, Forest Lake contains a high population of a variety of fish including northern pike, walleye, largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and perch. Though walleye and largemouth bass are favorite targets of many anglers on Forest Lake (Forest Lake was known as the “bass capital of Minnesota” during the 1960s and 1970s, with the official Minnesota bass opener taking place there several times,) muskie fishing is becoming increasingly popular. While the amount of muskies in the lake is relatively low, the average size of them is becoming quite large, making for a great trophy catch.
Our Forest Lake location will host five new boats including two runabouts, two pontoons and a fishing boat to fulfill all of our members’ desires. Here is our Forest Lake fleet: Pier I – Sea Ray 185 Runabout, Harris 200CX Pontoon, Lund 1625 Rebel Fishing Boat; Pier II – Sea Ray 205 Runabout, Bennington 24SLi Pontoon.
The 2013 Minneapolis Boat Show that took place January 31 through February 3 at the Minneapolis Convention Center was a success beyond our expectations. As our booth remained possibly the busiest and most crowded display in the building once again, there was never a dull moment for our employees. As existing members paid a visit to share their experiences, express their gratitude and collect their gifts, new members snatched up all of our Pier II Minnetonka memberships and got the scoop on YBC.
With the upper Midwest’s best selection of new boats and hundreds of booths showcasing the very latest in engines, electronics, fishing gear and accessories, there was no better place to get a head start on a summer full of fun! From canoes to cruisers, from pontoons to personal watercraft there were boats for every lifestyle, activity and budget. The 4-day event was also the best time to buy, offering you a once-a-year chance to compare makes and models, secure insurance and financing and gear up with the latest accessories all at one time, under one roof!
Our team members had a blast during the 4-day event. We all got a chance to meet a lot of existing members and also had the pleasure to visit with members we see on a regular basis throughout the summer. The reward of hearing what our members have to say about their experiences with our boats on the water is unmatched. We all went home Sunday with feelings of joy, gratitude and an incredible itch to get back out to the docks.
As Minnetonka is our most popular location, selling out of Pier II memberships did not come as a total surprise. Our Pre-season enrollment is going on now so if you’re thinking about spending your summer on the water enjoying some of the most fun experiences the season has to offer – fishing, waterskiing, tubing, swimming, cruising, gathering friends and family together for a day out on a pontoon – check out our short video to find out more about becoming a Your Boat Club member today.

I am an open-bow runabout, a classic family cruising boat that harkens back to the simple yet elegantly styled boats that Larson was famous for in the 1960’s. Picture me with an old world design and craftsmanship that meets modern technology. It’s been rumored that I resemble the spawn of a ’57 Chevy Bel Air mated to 21st-century technology. Larson president Al Kuebelbeck said in a statement about me, “It’s been designed with classic lines and retro styling as a nod to our company’s rich, 100-year history of boating.”
How do I ride, you may be wondering? With my 5.0L Mercruiser, you can expect a crisp and controlled ride with just enough speed to inspire you. Along with my smoothness, measuring in at 23 feet, I offer extreme comfort. My forward bow seating is spacious and, thanks to my high-rising sheer, it’s ever so deep, safe and comfortable for the new generation of boaters.
Whether you love to water ski, take your kids tubing or simply cruise the lake, I am here to make your boating excursion one you will never forget. Gather up to 10 people and bring your crew to Lake Minnetonka or Prior Lake (Pier II Larson 2100 LSI model) this season and try me out for yourself. You will most assuredly come back and use me again and again.
Can’t wait for May to meet me? I am on display at Maplewood Mall and Southdale Mall now through March 31st. Come take a look at my sharp and shiny detail and say hello to the ever-so-kind Your Boat Club crew members who spend each and every day with me.
