Attention YBC Renters!

A new law has passed in Minnesota that affects your rental reservation. All renters, regardless of age, must hold a boater’s safety certificate in order to legally operate a rental boat. It’s important that you review the information and complete the safety certificate course prior to your outing. The course is $34.95 and can be completed online here. This specific course takes about 3 hours online and your certification is good for life.

For faster certification, there is a 180 day permit option available here for $9.99, which takes about 15 minutes online.

It is your responsibility to abide by this legislation as well any fines incurred for not doing so. We believe this means the waters will be safer for everyone, and support keeping our customers safe on the water.
