Excursions
While Ely may be called the End of the Road, it is certainly the beginning of a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It is home to world renown dining, lodging and shopping making for an impressive last stop before heading out into the BWCA. If you are coming for a summer visit, Ely offers some of the best fishing, hiking and fat tire/mountain biking trails in northern MN. You could also take a guided fishing trip, or guided wildlife tour. A winter visit could find you learning how to snowshoe, cross country skiing, or taking a guided dog sled trip. Some other must-see attractions include, the North American Bear Center, the International Wolf Center, the Dorothy Molter Museum, Sibley Mine Tours, Pillow Rock and the Hegman Lake pictographs. It’s easy to fill a weekend with adventure in Ely, MN.

Gas: Gas is available to the public.
Rental and member boat reservations will come with a full tank of gas. This is separate from the boat rental cost and you will be charged for the fuel you use on your trip upon your return.

Side x Side Rentals - Members get 50% off!
Snowmobile Rentals - Members get 50% off!-Snowmobile certification is required by Minnesota law for residents born after December 31, 1976.
-You must be 18 years of age or older to drive your own snowmobile. To operate a 2-person snowmobile with a minor as the passenger you must be 25 years of age or older.
-Helmet is required for driver and passenger.
-Only to be operated within 100 miles of YBC Ely Station.
